Terri Lee
(Pecotte) King
July 11, 1957 – August 28, 2025
HURLEY, Wis. - Terri Lee (Pecotte) King, age 68, of Hurley, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025.
Born July 11, 1957, to Joseph and Roberta "Bobi" Pecotte, Terri was the oldest of seven children. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and J.E. Murphy High School, graduating in 1975. Terri then went on to Gogebic Community College, obtaining a certificate in cosmetology.
However, her passion and dedication was to the family business, the Liberty Bell Chalet, then later, The Bell, where she was the proprietor. Terri made the best pizzas, meatballs, Alfredo sauce, along with many other family dishes, passed down from her great-grandma, Carmella Fontecchio.
Terri's greatest gift in life was how well she loved everyone, always without conditions or judgement.
Terri was married to Raymond "Sonny" Mieloszyk. Together they had two children, a daughter, Sonni, and son, Scottie. Terri was a devoted mother to her children and a loving grandma to her three grandchildren, Greyson, Cade and Avery Lauren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Roberta Pecotte; and a brother, Joseph Craig.
Terri is survived by her husband, Matt King; a daughter, Sonni (Jeffrey) Olson; a son, Scottie; her grandchildren; her siblings, Michelle Pozzani (Dan), Andrea Kivisto (Mark), Gina Kivisto (Jimmy) and Jerri Sokol (Brock Swartz); and many nieces and nephews.
Terri loved her Sunday funday and spent those days with some of her best friends; her cousins, Jill Tilton and Jaclyn Stengard, Sandy Joustra and Annette Francis. They loved their Green Bay Packers. She made some of her best memories on Sundays.
This past year-and-a-half, Terri spent fighting ovarian cancer—her biggest advocate and cheerleader was her daughter, Sonni.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 Iron St., in Hurley, with the Rev. Hrudaya Raju Sunkara, celebrant.
A luncheon will be served in the parish hall immediately following the Mass.
After the luncheon, the family requests anyone to please join them to celebrate Terri's life at her favorite spot on Copper Street in downtown Hurley.
Private Rite of Committal and inurnment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hurley, where Terri will be laid to rest with her parents and brother.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate directly to HOPE Animal Shelter, Box 261, Ironwood, MI 49938, as she was a lifelong animal lover.
