GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Tanya Jean McGeshick, 47, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Watersmeet, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Tayna was born on March 13, 1969, in Big Rapids, a daughter of Daniel Jr. and Judith (Aten) McGeshick.

Tanya is survived by her father, Daniel Jr., Watersmeet; a son, Ethan, Marenisco; four grandchildren; a special friend, James Benedict, Grand Rapids; two sisters, Debbie Swartz and Theresa Davy; and two brothers, John Swartz and Frank Swartz.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith; and a daughter, Heather Lynn Johnson, on May 13, 2016.

Visitation will be held at the Lakeside Memorial Chapel in Wakefield on Tuesday, June 21, beginning at 5 p.m.

A funeral service, with food and drumming, will be held Wednesday, June 22, at 11 a.m., at the Youth Center in Watersmeet.

Burial will follow at the Lac Vieux Desert Cemetery, Watersmeet where she will arrive at her final resting place near family.
