IRONWOOD, Mich. - Susan "Susie" "Sue" Braspenick, 70, of Westgate, 1500 N. Lowell St., Ironwood, passed away early Saturday morning, Aug. 22, 2020.

Susan was born to Charles and Viola Soffiette on Jan. 12, 1950, in Ironwood. She graduated from Luther L. Wright High School.

Susan was united in marriage to Rene Braspenick on Nov. 9, 1968. They made their home and raised their family in Ironwood. He preceded her in death in November 1989.

Susan's life was her family. She enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to her weekly visits with her brother, Bob, who dedicated time every Sunday for more than 30 years after the passing of her husband.  Anyone who knew Susie well knew her greatest wish was to be reunited with her husband.

Susan is survived by her children, Jyl (Derick), Cherie (Myron), Rick and Bridget; and grandchildren, Fontaine, Jayla and Jada. She leaves behind her brother, Bob Soffiette; and sister, Carol (Dennis) Mattson.

The family would like to thank Westgate staff for taking extra special care of Susan.

No formal services will be held. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
