HURLEY, Wis. - Beloved mother and grandmother, Sharon Charles, 81, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 10, 2025, surrounded by family and her beloved dogs.

Sharon was born in Ironwood, Michigan, and was a long-time resident of Hurley. Whether she was shopping for treasures, cheering at the races, dining out or enjoying a night at the casino—she brought warmth and joy wherever she went.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, with whom she was a proud military wife who stood beside her family with unwavering strength and grace, embracing the challenges and sacrifices that came with that life.

She is survived by her son, Jim; daughters, Kathy (Dave) and Tanya (Glenn); long-time companion, Dave; sisters, Tina and Linda; niece, Joy (Satch); grandchildren, Tasha (John), Jessica, Nate (Dyllan), Jimmy (Victoria) and Melissa (Preston); and four beloved great-grandchildren.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date.

And for those close to her, they'll always remember one final moment of laughter and mystery: "What's in the box?" A reminder of her playful spirit and the way she kept us curious, smiling and guessing.
