BESSEMER, Mich. – Ryan Aaron Fyle, 51, of Bessemer, passed away peacefully in his home, Monday, June 1, 2026.
Ryan was born Feb. 24, 1975, in Minneapolis, a son of Keith and Alaine (Cass) Fyle. He was only 7 years-old when his mom died. Ryan and his older brother, Eric, were raised by their father and stepmother, Linda. He attended White Bear Lake High School and graduated in 1993. Before going to St. Paul Technical College and earning an Associate degree in culinary arts, Ryan attended Bethel College and played football there for three seasons.
On Oct. 9, 1999, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth A. Wanink, at Woodland Church in Ironwood. They were blessed with two sons.
Ryan was very strong in his faith and an active member of Woodland Church, enjoyed coaching football for the Gogebic Miners and loved to cook.
He was employed for 12 years at the Ojibway Correctional Facility in Marenisco and then worked for 13 years at the Gogebic DHS Office in Bessemer.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Jaakob (Kayte) and Isaak; his father, Keith (Linda); a brother, Eric (Amy); his father-in-law, Jerry (Gemma) Wanink; and his brother-in-law, Danny (Jean) Wanink, and their children, Finley and Harper.
Besides his mother, Ryan was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Arlene Wanink.
A funeral will be held Monday, June 8, at 1 p.m., preceded by visitation at 11:30 a.m., at Woodland Church, N10234 Curry Road, in Ironwood, with the Rev. Gary Harrison officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
