IRONWOOD, Mich. - Ruth Elaine Johnston, 77, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020.

Ruth was born on Nov. 27, 1942, at home in Oma, Wisconsin, the daughter of Reino and Irene (Rintala) Peltomaki.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerome Sr.; sons, Jerry Jr. (Michelle) and Brian (Corine); daughters, Kathy (Pete) Kafczynski and Patti (Darryl) Hagstrom; grandchildren, Rikki, Jarek and Paige Johnston, Elaina and Emily Johnston, Nathan (Jonnie) Stutz, Janelle Worthington and Alexis Hagstrom; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Gloria (Mickey) Zanella , Gladys Peltomaki and Donna (Jim) Peltomaki.

She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Howard and Germaine Johnston; infant daughter, Mary; and sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jim Patterson.

Ruth was a talented seamstress, knitter, cook and baker. Those who have received any of her creations will forever hold them dear.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family has entrusted Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield with the arrangements.
