WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Ruby L. Snider, 85, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on June 12, 1927, in Taft, Tenn., the daughter of Clara Rita Lemons.
Ruby worked as a waitress at Bingo's in Wakefield for 20 years, then as a seamstress for Munsingwear Inc. in Ironwood, and finally at Keen Agers in Wakefield for 10 years.
Ruby is survived by five children, Carolyn Ruth Paulger, Detroit, Bobby Joe Roland, Lincoln Park, Delphine Roland, Warren, and Danny Louis Roland and Lydia Roland Murphy, both of Wakefield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her son, Jerry Roland, in 1988; and all of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Lakeside Memorial Chapel in Wakefield, with the Rev. Todd Winkler, pastor of Cornerstone Church in Ramsay, officiating.
Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
