WAUKESHA, Wis. – Roy William Reini, 89, of Muskego, formerly a long-time resident of Bessemer, Mich., passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health. His loving family was at his side.

Roy was born on Dec. 21, 1926, in Ironwood, Mich., a son of Waldemar and Katherine (Alavarvi) Reini. He attended Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood.

Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from March 27, 1945, to Dec. 27, 1946.

Roy resided in Bessemer for 49 years, working as a heavy equipment operator and machinist. He worked for Sellstrom Manufacturing in Ironwood and also in Wheeling, Ill. Roy retired in 2002. He and his wife, Marian, then relocated to Muskego.

Roy enjoyed doing home improvement and maintenance projects, but he was never more at peace than when he was hunting and walking through the forest of the Upper Peninsula.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Marian (Rigotti) Reini, Muskego; a son, William (Cheryl), Capitola, Calif.; a grandson, Kyle (Mia), Mableton, Ga.; a sister, Mayme Usitalo, Chelsea, Mich.; his brother-in-law, Julius (Marjorie) Rigotti, Hurley; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Toivo, Tauno, John, Eugene, Reuben, Eino and Edwin; and five sisters, Elma, Marian, Ruth, Helen and Martha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 25, at 11:30 a.m., preceded by visitation at 11 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer, with the Rev. Antony Lukka, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer, with a military graveside service under the auspices of Bessemer American Legion Post 27 and Bessemer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3673 Honor Guard.
