Roxanne Dee
Digiorgio
August 23, 1946 – March 29, 2025
IRONWOOD, Mich. - Roxanne Dee DiGiorgio (née Westeen; formerly Korhonen), age 78, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on Aug. 23, 1946, in Bessemer Township, Roxanne lived a life filled with kindness, quiet strength and a deep love for learning. A former teacher, she was passionate about education and believed in the power of books, puzzles and curiosity to keep the mind sharp. Whether she was lost in a good novel, conquering a crossword, or enjoying a peaceful walk, Roxanne found joy in life's simple moments.
She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond DiGiorgio; and the former wife of the late Gene Korhonen, with whom she raised three sons: Bradley Korhonen, Douglas Korhonen, and Timothy Oddo (née Korhonen).
Roxanne is survived by her sons and their families: Bradley Korhonen (special friend, Georgette Elsworth) and his children, Mason Korhonen and Hailey Bruner (née Korhonen), along with Hailey's husband, Nathan; Douglas Korhonen and his wife, Gail Korhonen; and Timothy Oddo and his husband, Joseph Oddo Jr., and their children, Malaya and Zayn Oddo.
She is also survived by her sister, Gretchen Simchak; her brother-in-law, Edward Simchak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roxanne will be remembered for her gentle nature, sharp wit and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, education and quiet grace that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Roxanne's life will be held at Bucko's Saloon in Hurley, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., on what would have been her 79th birthday.
