BESSEMER, Mich. – Robert James Oie, 69, of Bessemer, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at his home.

Robert was born on Nov. 8, 1950, in Ironwood, a son of Clyde and Mary (Novak) Oie. He attended Luther L. Wright High School and graduated in 1968. Robert continued his education at Gogebic Community College and earned an associate degree.

He worked for Gogebic County.

Bob will be remembered for his humor and quick wit and various other moods. Rest easy and see you in a bit.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; a daughter, Rachel (Steve) Niemi; two grandsons, Ivan (Toni) and Alex; four cherished great-grandchildren, Yuri, Iliza, Henrik and Leif; a brother, Jim (Patti); and a sister, Mary Beth Oie.

He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Kirsten "Sissy;" and a brother, John.

The family is honoring Bob's life in a private service.
