Robert Charles
'Bob' Vittone
August 22, 1940 – November 26, 2025
KIMBALL, Wis. - Robert Charles "Bob" Vittone, 85, of Kimball, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at home with family.
He was born Aug. 22, 1940, in Kimball, a son of James and Esther Vittone. Robert served honorably in the National Guard. He was united in marriage to Delores Erickson on June 25, 1960, at Holy Trinity Church in Ironwood, Michigan.
Robert moved to Kenosha, where he worked for AMC as a maintenance welder and operated his own business, Azure Pools. He retired from Chrysler after 30 years and returned to "God's Country," as he called it. On July 13, 1979, Robert and his brother, August, opened the Corkscrew Liquor Store in Hurley.
An avid archer, Robert was a member of the Kenosha Bowmen Club and earned a state championship with a longbow. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing on Lake Superior. He also loved fabricating metal art, creating pieces such as a moose, a bear, and a 24-foot corkscrew known as the world's largest. After retirement, he enjoyed visiting with customers at the Corkscrew and was known to be quite the character.
Robert is survived by his wife, Delores; sons, Gregory (Sandy) Vittone and Gary Vittone; sisters, Shirley (Gene) Solvik, Mary Calgaro and Lena (Jack) Constantini; brothers, Richard Vittone and Dominic Vittone (Allison); and grandchildren, Andrew Vittone (Rachel) and Megan (Alec) Szwiec. He is also survived by in-laws, Suzanne Vittone, Perry (Mary) Lasart and Leland Omdahl Sr.; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe, August and Larry Vittone; and in-laws, Arlene Vittone, Herbert (Marie) Erickson, Ronald (Carole) Erickson and Janice Omdahl.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
