Rita J. Cross' Obituary
MARENISCO, Mich. – Rita J. Cross, 88, a longtime resident of Marenisco, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Rita was born on Oct. 17, 1926, in Park Falls, Wis., the daughter of Louis W. and Ella (Amo) Steiner. She graduated from Park Falls High School in 1944.
Rita loved her family, friends, knitting, crocheting and long rides on Sunday afternoons.
Rita is survived by two sons, Charles (Donna), Hesperia, and James (Priscilla), Marenisco; a daughter, Teresa Stanfield, Marenisco; five grandchildren, Melanie Cross (Tim), Stephanie Cross, Amanda (Tim) Kumma-Reeves, Amber (Randy) Miller and Brianna Cross; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald; four brothers, Arnold, Oliver, Vernon and Wilfred Steiner; a sister, Lorraine Alden; and three special nieces, Betty DuCharme, Mary Meyers and Rita Carlson.
Out of respect for Rita's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held this summer.
The family wishes to thank Aspirus Grand View Hospital and Gogebic Medical Care Facility for their excellent care and assistance.
