Patrick James Walker

MARENISCO, Mich. – Patrick James Walker, 62, a long-time resident of Marenisco, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, Oct. 2, 2018.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1956, in Whitefish, Mont., a son of Lee Frank and Arlove Marie (Kivi) Walker.

On June 21, 1980, Patrick was united in marriage to Cynthia Marie Skytta at her mom and dad's home on the East Shore of beautiful Lake Gogebic. They made their home in Marenisco and were blessed with two children.

Since Pat was an avid outdoorsman and deer hunter, he looked forward every year to going to camp and the camaraderie. Pat spent many happy hours on the lake fishing, and he was quite the practical joker. Pat took great pleasure listening to old classic rock 'n' roll and enjoyed going to the local bar where he performed with his air guitar.

For more than 35 years, Pat was a cranberry farmer. He was an accomplished welder and a jack of all trades. Pat was always willing to help or offer assistance to anyone, expecting nothing in return.

Most of all, he absolutely loved spending time with his family and friends.

Pat is survived by a brother, Michael (Diane), of Washington; his beloved wife, Cindy, Wakefield; a daughter, Rebecca (Brent) Magley, Little Girls Point; a son, Levi, Marenisco; two grandsons, Zeb (Emily) Magley, Bessemer, and Laken Walker, Mercer, Wis.; a great-grandson, Malakai Magley, Bessemer; his sister-in-law, Sylvia (Buzzy) Mussatti, Ironwood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Carol Skytta; and a very special aunt, Marge Walker.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield. Condolences may be expressed online at lakesidememorialchapel.com.
