Obituary

WATERSMEET, Mich. - Patricia Ann "Pat Ann" Hilsabeck, a lifelong resident of Watersmeet, was granted her angel wings on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Her final days were spent at the Iron River Care Center and she was surrounded by family, friends and her beloved Pastor Rob Yerks.

Pat Ann was 83 years young and will be lovingly remembered by her children: Terri Hilsabeck of Marquette, Sandra (Gerald) Robinson of Eagle River, Wisconsin, Vicki Hilsabeck of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Lisa Hilsabeck of Watersmeet. Pat's daughters will remember learning many things from her, which enriched their lives - gardening, cooking, sewing, a hard work ethic and a love of reading come to mind.

She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Tara and Patrick (Terri), Carissa and Kyle (Sandra and Gerald), and Ian (Lisa), along with her "greats," Bentley, Ramsey, Presley and Ryken. Holding a special place in her heart were her nieces, Renee (Todd) Miller of Holland, and Sarah Wasson and her daughter, Abigail "Abbie" Wasson of Dimondale.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Gordon "Pete" Hilsabeck; brother, Clarence Wasson; sister, Mary Jo Wasson; and parents, Clarence and Josephine (Phelan) Wasson.

Many remember Pat Ann for her multiple careers she had over her lifetime. Pat began her career withWLUC-TV6 in Marquette. Upon moving to Watersmeet, the family acquired the Standard Oil, later changed to Amoco, station at the corner of U.S. 2 and U.S 45, the A&W Root Beer Stand on U.S. 2 and the U.S. Postal Service rural mail carrier position. It was evident she cherished her patrons talking to them daily and was especially proud of delivering every piece of mail that traveled through her hands to its respective mailbox. Pat worked for the USPS for 40-plus years. At the same time, she worked for the Redman Supper Club in Land O'Lakes, Wisconsin and enjoyed meeting and serving her many customers and friends. Pat Ann leaves behind many loving, dear to her heart family, friends, neighbors, patrons and customers.

After considerable deliberation and in honoring Pat Ann's strongly stated wishes, an inurnment ceremony will be scheduled at a later date for both Pat Ann and Gordon "Pete" Hilsabeck.

Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
