HURLEY, Wis. - It is with profound sorrow that we bid farewell to our beloved mother, aunt and friend, Nancy C. Pinkston, who passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.

 Born on July 17, 1936, Nancy was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Palmina Casagranda of Ludlow, Massachusetts. 

Nancy had an insatiable love for games, indulging in a wide variety of activities such as Mahjong, cards, Farkle, dominoes, cribbage and bingo. She was also an avid reader, finding joy in immersing herself in books. Her compassionate nature led her to volunteer for numerous organizations, including reading to children at a school in Florida. 

Nancy is survived by her two children, Jeff (Buck) Lewis-Mathieu and Michelle (Rich) Mathieu Scott. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Tarquino, Pauline, Aldina, Ada, Walter, Mario and James. 

Nancy leaves behind a large and loving family of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all of whom deeply miss her presence. We will fondly remember our game nights, coffee gatherings and the laughter that filled our home. You were truly loved and cherished. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908, or that a tree be planted in her memory through the funeral home’s provided link.

A Mass Intention for Nancy will be held Sunday, July 19, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Hurley. 

A private burial will take place at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Ludlow.
