Obituary

IRON BELT, Wis. – Michael J. "Crunch" Soffietti, 61, of Iron Belt, lost his life due to complications from a long battle with multiple myeloma on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, in the company of loved ones.

Michael was born on June 9, 1958, in Wakefield, Mich., a son of Eugene Battista "PeeWee" and Helen Ann (Vitich) Soffietti. He attended A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, Mich., and graduated in 1976.

Michael worked at various local lumber mills as a sawyer.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering in his garage, riding his Honda Shadow motorcycle, attending concerts, woodworking and watching all Westerns.

Michael is survived by two children, Amber (Adam) Guglielmotto, Ramsay, Mich., and Brian (Jessica) Soffietti, Billings, Mont.; five precious grandchildren, Gage Barbacovi and Layla, Rykkard, Giana and Kyler Soffietti; a brother, John "Shrum" Soffietti, Bessemer; the love of his life, Patty Ludwikowski, Iron Belt; and Patty's brother, John Sieraski, who was like a brother-in-law.

He was predeceased by his father, Eugene, on Feb. 19, 2012; and his mother, Helen, on May 6, 2019.

The family is honoring Michael's life in a private service at a later date.

Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring staff of Regional Hospice for their compassionate and professional care, and for the many kindnesses extended to the family.
