Maurice graduated from Williamson County High School in 1947. He then enlisted into the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he pursued a higher education at Southern Illinois University and finally at the University of Illinois where he obtained his Doctorate of Dentistry and Oral Surgery. He opened his own dental practice in Carterville, Illinois where he practiced for many years before moving his practice to Ewen, Michigan in 1969. He sold his practice in 1997 to retire. However, he decided that retirement was not for him. He wanted to continue to help his community members as he did for so many years, so he signed on to work for the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake

Maurice's kindness, generosity and unwavering love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, June 29, at 2 p.m., in the Event Center at the Northern Waters Casino and Resort.
As Maurice would say…." Over and out, 10-4."
