Mary M. Pikka
WAKEFIELD – Mary M. Pikka, 100, of Wakefield, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Wakefield.
The former Mary Lucas (Kutrovoc) was born on July 15, 1910, in Bessemer, the daughter of the late Paul and Magdeline (Turkal) Lucas (Kutrovoc). Mary attended Bessemer schools.
On Oct 30, 1936, she was married to Toivo M. Pikka.
Mary was a faithful member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Wakefield.
She was proficient at sewing, cooking and baking and enjoyed traveling with her loving daughter, Marianne, who survives her.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Toivo, on June 7, 1965; a son, Robert, on Oct. 4, 1947; and four sisters, Ann Shaw, Alice Peterson, Madeline Judd and Catherine Carli.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 7, from 10 to 11 a.m., at All Saints Lutheran Church, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bill Jacobson officiating.
Burial will take place in the Lakeside Cemetery.
