IRONWOOD, Mich. – Marilyn L. (Holst) Partyka, age 93, a lifelong resident of Ironwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, in Ashland, Wisconsin.

Marilyn was born on Feb. 17, 1932, in Ironwood, a daughter of Oscar and Ida (Berg) Holst. She attended Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood and graduated in 1949.

On Jan. 5, 1952, Marilyn was united in marriage with Florian J. "Flory" Partyka. While raising their three children they spent every weekend at Crystal Lake camping during the summer. In the winter they would go snowmobiling. In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing, square dancing, playing cards, going to bingo and crocheting.

She worked various jobs in the community, ending her working career at the Ironwood cable office.

Marilyn was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood. She proudly served on the Ironwood Township Board of Directors for many years. Marilyn was a supporting member of the Ironwood Township Volunteer Fire Department Fire Bells and to the Auxiliary to Ironwood American Legion Post 5. She volunteered at the Bessemer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3673 and Gogebic-Ontonagon Community Action Agency, where she assisted with monthly commodities.

Marilyn is survived by three children, Geri (Rick) Johnson, Luan (Ronald) Jacobson and Mark (Jody) Partyka; 10 grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Wienen, Jennifer (Charles) Hessel, Christel (Tony) Welch, Brett Wienen (Jen Wight), Tessa Jacobson (Brent Jacobson), Tyler Partyka, Haley (Austin) Altmann and Joshua, Kalley and Jaden Partyka; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Florian, on June 17, 2014; a son, Robert Florian, in childhood; an infant great-grandson; and all of her brothers and sisters.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Nicole Hanson-Lynn officiating.

A committal service and private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers, to Salem Lutheran Church, 333 E. Aurora St., Ironwood, MI 49938.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Aspirus Ashland Hospice for their excellent support and care of Marilyn.
