IRONWOOD, Mich. – Marie Carolyn Pogliano, of 705 Luxmore St., Ironwood, formerly of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at her home, after a long illness.
She was born March 20, 1939, in Wakefield, the daughter of John and Mary Tosco. Carolyn graduated from Wakefield High School in 1957.
She was employed by Liberty Loan Office, Dr. J.R. Franck, Indianhead Mountain Resort, K-Mart and the Fashion Bug.
On June 27, 1959, Carolyn married Jack Pogliano at Immaculate Conception Church in Wakefield, by the late Rev. Msgr. Louis C. Cappo.
Surviving are her mother, Mary Tosco of Wakefield; her husband of 51 years, Jack; a daughter, Gayle (Rob) Barland of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; a son, Scott Pogliano of Bessemer; two grandsons, Nick (Kelly) and Josh Barland, both of Minnesota; a great-granddaughter, Samantha; her mother-in-law, Agatha "Gay" Pogliano of Ironwood; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, John Tosco, on Sept. 30, 1988.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Her final resting place will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., Wakefield, is in charge of the arrangements.
