Margaret R. 'Marne' Anderson

WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Margaret R. "Marne" Anderson, 85, of 413 Main St., Marenisco, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Sept. 17, 2011, in Wakefield.

She was born on Nov. 30, 1925, in Winegar, Wis., the daughter of Carl John and Agnes Anna (Hunt) Anderson. Marne graduated from Roosevelt High School in Marenisco with the class of 1944.

She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church of Marenisco.

Marne worked in the office of Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Marenisco for 33 years. After its closing, she worked for Champion Timberlands-Champion International Corp. in Wakefield until ill health forced her to retire in 1977.

Marne loved people and enjoyed talking to everyone. She also enjoyed going to the casino, riding the "little blue bus" to Ironwood, shopping and going out for coffee.

Marne is survived by her loving brother, Robert "Bob" Anderson, Marenisco, who faithfully visited her every day; her sister, Ruth Giuliano, White Pine; four nieces, Catherine (Wayne) Shamion, Silver City, Teri Giuliano, White Pine, Melissa (Steven) Watson, Livonia, and Michelle Giuliano, Waukesha, Wis.; a nephew, Robert (Julia) Giuliano, Saline; three grandnieces, Brenda (Scott) Cameron and Mariel and Logan Watson; a great-grandnephew, Gavin Jencks; and a great-grandniece, Elissa Jencks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother-in-law, Joseph M. Giuliano, on April 16, 2003.

Friends may call at the Lakeside Memorial Chapel in Wakefield on Monday, Sept. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., where recitation of the rosary will take place at 7 p.m., led by Father Louis P. Bracket.

Visitation will continue on Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Marenisco, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with the Revs. Joy J. Adimakkeel, Louis P. Bracket and Raymond F. Moncher concelebrating.

Pallbearers will be Ken Alden, Leighton Hill, Bill Powell, Mike Tice, John Zorich and Brian Balcom.

Rite of Committal and burial will be in Marenisco Cemetery.

A reception will be held at the Marenisco Township Hall
following the cemetery service.

The family would like to thank everyone at Gogebic Medical Care Facility for their kindness and loving care that was given to Marne during her last 7 ½ years.
