Obituary

Margaret E. "Margie" Brown, 85, of Bergland, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1925, in Greenwood, Wis., the daughter of John and Margaret (Schutte) Vesel. Margie graduated from Greenwood High School in 1943.
She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bergland, and St. Ann's Women's Guild.
Margie was a cook at Bergland Community Schools for 20 years, and retired in 1990. Her cooking was renowned, especially her pasties and buns.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharron Parker, West Allis, Wis.; two sons, Richard (Robin), Oconomowoc, Wis., and Ronald, Bergland; three grandchildren, Shane Parker, Milwaukee, Jessica Brown-Kovala (Chris), Marquette, and Alex Brown, Bergland; a great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Rae Parker; two brothers, Ray (Delores) Vesel, Sterling, Ill., and Robert (Vivian) Vesel, Greenwood; two sisters-in-law, Irene Kielcheski, Bergland, and Terry Vesel, Gainesville, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; countless friends; and a "great grand-dog," Bannon.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Gordon V. Brown, on Sept. 5, 2005; three brothers, John, Bernard and Charles Vesel; and a sister, Josie Sowieja.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 25, at 11 a.m. EDT, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bergland, with the Rev. Sebastian Ettolil officiating.
There will be no visitation prior to the Mass.
Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Bergland.
Margie will be fondly remembered for her tremendous warmth and terrific sense of humor. She was a fun-loving lady who often remarked that she "had a lot of laughs" in this life. Her indomitable spirit helped her through the tough times, and that spirited attitude endured until the day she passed away. Margie was one-of-a-kind and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
