Obituary

DECKERVILLE, Mich. – Margaret N. Jacobson, 88, of Deckerville, formerly of Bessemer, joined her loved ones in their heavenly home on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

She was born on Jan. 2, 1924, in Ramsay, the daughter of Bill and Bonnie (Marvin) Brockbank.


On Dec. 30, 1943, Margaret married Floyd V. Jacobson at Sharon Lutheran Church in Bessemer.

Margaret loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Margaret is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Clifford) Black, Flint, and Marleen (John) Nezworski, Deckerville; four grandchildren, Michelle (Jim) Haist, Burton, Deanna (Scott) Maher, Mt. Morris, Kristie (Scott) Zimmerman, Schoolcraft, and Kevin (Jennifer) Nezworski, Baltimore, Md.; nine great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jean Maki, Bessemer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd, on Jan. 14, 1979; two sisters, Etta Giachino and Gladys Woelfel; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 14, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Sharon Lutheran Church, 100 E. Sellar St., Bessemer, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gerald L. Anderson, officiating.

A luncheon will be served in the Kastman Hall of Sharon Lutheran Church following the service.

Burial will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery in the spring.
