Louis P. 'Louie' Miskovich Sr.
RAMSAY, Mich. – Louis P. "Louie" Miskovich Sr., 57, of Ramsay, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Aug. 18, 1953, in Wakefield, the son of George and Marcella (Ryskey) Miskovich. Louie graduated from Wakefield High School in 1971.
In earlier years, he owned and operated the Lakeview Inn and Lanes in Wakefield.
On Feb. 14, 1990, Louie married Tammy Lee Seeke.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
His hobbies included hockey, camping, hunting and fishing, going to camp, picking berries and making maple syrup. Louie loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his wife, and in 2009 traveled to Sturgis. He looked forward to the Canadian fishing trips with his family, but especially enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Louie was a welder by trade, and a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 111.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; two sons, Louis II (Sheri), Bessemer, and Lee (Maggie), Green Bay, Wis.; two daughters, Liza (Shane) Maddox, Ramsay, and Shauna (Jay) Edyvean, Bessemer Township; nine grandchildren, Adam, Seth, Katelyn and Laura Miskovich, Cody, Cloe and Karley Maddox, and Megan and Kendra Edyvean; his mother, Marcella, Wakefield; two brothers, George R. (Donna) and Theodore "Ted" (Brenda), both of Wakefield; a sister, Jeanne (Lowell "L.J.") Roderick, Bessemer Township; four aunts, Lorraine Anderson, Marenisco, Gladys Roland, Schofield, Wis., Earla Ryskey, Marenisco, and Dorothy Ryskey, Fayetteville, Ark.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Louie was preceded in death by his father, George, on Dec. 13, 2009.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, E8223 Sanders Road, Bessemer, with the Rev. David Stevens officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Pallbearers will be Larry Miskovich, Bill Luoma, Dan Miskovich, Todd Miskovich, Shannon Miskovich and Luke Roderick.
Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
