Lorraine Barbara Wiita, 83, of Comet Location, Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2011, in Wakefield.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1927, in West Allis, Wis., the daughter of Paul and Theresa (Stier) Streicher. Lorraine graduated from West Allis Nathan Hale High School in January 1946.
On Sept. 26, 1953, she was united in marriage with Irving William "Crash" Wiita in West Allis.
For five years, Lorraine worked for Allen-Bradley Co. in Milwaukee. After having her two children, she was employed by Wisconsin Gasket Company in Milwaukee (now Dana Corporation Victor Products Division) for 20 years.
Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Irving, on Sept. 27, 2007; two brothers, Frank and Martin Streicher; and two sisters, Theresa Streicher, who was 14-months-old, and Margaret Kurovsky.
Lorraine is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jo (Richard) Seidens, Waukesha, Wis., and Sharon Lee Wiita, Saukville, Wis.; two grandchildren, Christy Lee (Eric) Grunewald and Bradley William Wiita; a step-granddaughter, Stacy Tarnowski; a great-grandson, Conner Edward Grunewald, and another great-grandchild to be born soon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; other loving relatives; and a host of friends.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, June 3, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Cornerstone Church, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with the Revs. Todd Winkler and Roy Speck officiating.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
Committal services and burial will take place on Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m., in Lakeside Cemetery.
