BESSEMER, Mich. – Lawrence J. Pearson, 82, a longtime resident of Bessemer, passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1939, in Chicago, a son of Harold and Bertha (Alberts) Pearson.

Lawrence served in the U.S. Army for two years.

He was a master mason.

Lawrence was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Harold and Albert; and his better half, Jean Marie Kovachich, on Dec. 7, 2021.

He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Sturtecky and Lois Smith; two children, Joelle Haddox and Alan Pearson; eight grandchildren, Heather Lee, Holly Morlan, Christopher Marciniak, Drew Marciniak, Ian Pearson, Seth Pearson, Melody Pearson and Dylan Pearson; 13 great-grandchildren, Antone, Micah, Keelyn, Jaxten, Chloe, Jacob, Abbie, Nicholas, Noah, Ava, Spencyr, Rowan and Juniper; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 13, at noon, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer, where military honors will be accorded.
