BRUCE CROSSING, Mich. – Larry Driesenga, 73, of Bruce Crossing, formerly of Allendale, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.
He was born Oct. 20, 1942, in Zeeland, son of the late Henry and Ann (Hassevoort) Driesenga.
Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Mary Lou; their two sons, Mike (Pam) and Rick (Holly); six grandchildren, Courtney (Nick) Redding, Lindsay, Rebekah, Tanner, Emily and Ryan; and a great-granddaughter, Charleigh. Also surviving are three brothers, Harve (Nellie), Rog (Barb) and Ron (Marilynn); two sisters, Bea (June) Vereeke and Joan (Bill) Atkinson; Mary Lou's two brothers, Ed (Dawn) Vruggink and Gord (Dee) Vruggink; a brother-in-law, Bill Heinze; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
For the past 12 years, Larry made his dream come true of living in the western part of the Upper Peninsula. Here he made many great friends and spent countless hours enjoying nature.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m. EST at the Bergland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ted Trudgeon officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow from 3 to 5 p.m. (EST) in the church fellowship room.
A second service will be held in Allendale at a later date.

Larry's favorite verse from the Bible was Joshua 24:15, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
