Karen Rachel Pedrin, 65, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away at home, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was born on Dec. 19, 1944, to the late Ivan and Edna Grinivic. She grew up in Wakefield along with her five sisters and one brother.
On Nov. 4, 1961, Karen was united in marriage to Bernard Leroy Pedrin.
She worked at Indianhead Mountain as a cook and then as a nurse's aide for 19 years at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility until her retirement.
Karen's life was all about caring for others, especially her family. She spent her life loving and enjoying all of us.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Bernie; five children, Karen (Charles) Jager, Manistique, Margie (Paul) Charbarneau, Merrill, Wis., Donna (Karl) Korpela, Bessemer, Sandra (Frank) Romanowski, Hurley, Wis., and Brian (Carrie) Pedrin, Huntersville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives.
Besides her parents, Karen was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Lynn and Loretta Waterman; and her two special family companions, "Misty" and "Buster."
At Karen's request, there will be no formal services.
Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., Wakefield, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
This is a special note to you mom from dad: "I will be looking forward to the time we are together again. And then, and then, our love will be completed. Make my place by you my love and enjoy peace in the meantime." I love you Carrie, Bernie.
