WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Karen Ann Korpi, 76, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 18, 2021. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Paul Busch. She wanted a private family get-together in their home to celebrate her life.

Karen was born on April 14, 1945, in Ironwood. She shared her birthday with her first granddaughter which was a wonderful celebration together every year.

Karen is survived by her husband, Russell Korpi, after 58 years of marriage; their two children, Russ Jr. (Kat) and Dawn (Dan); and her dear sister, Donna (Walt) Rickard and brother, Paul Busch (Sally). She had two grandchildren that she shared a very special bond with, Kailey and Darienne; and many loving nieces and nephews. Karen had many lifelong friends.

She enjoyed gardening, her family, being outside in their pool and playing tennis back in the day. Friends and family meant everything to Karen, and she had a special relationship with each of them. She was so loved and will be deeply missed.

Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
