IRONWOOD, Mich. – Joseph J. Magdziak, 85, of Ironwood, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022.

Joe was born on March 19, 1936, in Ironwood, a son of George and Mary (Modzelewski) Magdziak.

Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for three years, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 31, 1957. He was a dedicated member of the Ironwood American Legion Post 5.

For more than 35 years, Joe worked at White Pine Copper Mine.

He loved nature, was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed doing crafts.

Joe is survived by his three sisters, Ida Wick, Frances Trier and Dorothy Wolcyk; and a brother, Charles. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by his parents.

The family is honoring his life in a private funeral service.

Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
