RAMSAY, Mich. - A Mass of Christian Burial remembering JoAnn Harvey, 85, of Ramsay, who was born on Nov. 26, 1937, and who passed away on Oct. 25, 2023, will be celebrated Tuesday, July 2, at 11 a.m., preceded by memorial visitation at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 407 Ascherman St., in Wakefield. The Rev. Dominic Agyapong will be the celebrant.
A luncheon will be served at the parish hall immediately following the Mass.
Following the luncheon, Rite of Committal and interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
JoAnn is survived by a son, Michael (Ronna), and grandson, Joshua; a daughter, Suzette (Randy) Zimmerman, and granddaughter, Kadie (Anthony) Barber with great-grandchildren, John Anthony, Mason Kurt and Madison Rose, and granddaughter, Kelsea Sutton with great-granddaughter, RaeLynn Elizabeth, and granddaughter, Kortney (Timothy) Williams; and granddaughters, Payton Seppanen and Aliya Harvey. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Sr. Debra Rosado, Gregory George, Kimberly George, Anthony George and Kelley LaDeau.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Arvilla Banovetz; her husband, Raymond G.; a son, Kurt Joseph; and a sister, Ida Mae George. Her sister,
Carol Ann "ChiChi" Haukkala, also joined the family in heaven on Nov. 9, 2023.
For many years, JoAnn was employed at the Bessemer Public Schools as an office assistant. Even after leaving her position with the school, JoAnn remained very active while helping with her churches in Ramsay, Wakefield and Bessemer. She was a supporting member of the Daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Guadalupe – Circle 746, and volunteered at the Bessemer St. Vincent DePaul and the local hospice.
JoAnn was dearly loved, and she will be missed by many, especially her family!
Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield, is assisting the family.
