Jeanett Erika Corolewski, 86, of Ironwood, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood.
She was born on July 10, 1925, in Essen, Germany, the daughter of August and Klara Schoenefeld.
Jeanett graduated with honors from the first nursing program held at Gogebic Community College in Ironwood. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Divine Infant Hospital in Wakefield for more than 30 years. After the hospital closed, Jeanett finished her nursing career working with Superior Home Health in Bessemer.
She loved crocheting, especially making special afghans for her family, and to decorate her home with pride and joy. Jeanett enjoyed traveling to Arizona to visit her daughters, and made one special trip to Mexico.
Jeanett is survived by two sons, George, Marquette, and Teddy (Sherri), Waupaca, Wis.; two daughters, Robin (Stephen) Chehansky and Michelle (Gene) Swayngim, both of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Heather (Jay) Pawlak, Ironwood, Eric Chehansky and Michael Swayngim, both of Tucson, and Kelley (Kevin) Parsell, Garden City; two great-granddaughters, Audra and Mikayla Pawlak, both of Ironwood; two brothers-in-law, George and Jim Corolewski; her sister-in-law, Patricia McGuire; several nieces and nephews; her friend and companion, Josie Weaver; and her ever faithful dog, Maya.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband, Ted "Ski" Corolewski, on July 21, 2011.
A private family gathering was held.
