IRONWOOD, Mich. – Janice M. Makinen, 80, a lifelong resident of Ironwood, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Janice was born on May 19, 1946, in Ironwood, a daughter of John G. and Harriet E. (Hyke) Kaseno.

She was united in marriage to James E. Makinen. They were blessed with two children, Lisa D. (John) Ursini and Richard J. Makinen.

As we say goodbye to our mother, we are blessed knowing she has joined her prince and loving husband, James.

A private graveside ceremony will be held for Janice and James at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood, at a later date.

May our parents unite again and live in peace now and forever.
