IRONWOOD, Mich. – Janet D. Patterson, 71, of Ironwood, formerly of Wakefield, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Duluth, Minnesota, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Janet was born on Nov. 17, 1951, in Wakefield, to Anselm "Judge" and Laura (Maki) Jarvenpaa. She graduated from Wakefield High School.

Janet is survived by the light of her life, her daughter, Lisa (Steve); four grandchildren, Brittany (Mike), Devon, Becca (Nick) and Akaley (Josh); five great-grandchildren, Emmett, Jasper, Kylie, Lucca and Anders. Her sixth great-grandchild is due in September. She is further survived by a brother, Roger (Marge); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Marie.

Janet was very proud of her 30-year career as head cook at Keen Agers and providing good home-cooked meals.

She enjoyed going to the casino, cashwords, reading, planting flowers and bumming with Lisa. Janet loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Per Janet's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of her life is being planned for the fall.
