Zeckovich
July 30, 1955 – December 13, 2025
IRONWOOD, Mich. – James Edward Zeckovich, 70, a resident of Ironwood since 2023, formerly an 18-year resident of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and formerly a long-time resident of Wakefield, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood.
Jim was born on July 30, 1955, in Wakefield, a son of Gladys Mae (Plumley) and Michael Joseph Zeckovich Sr. He attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1973.
For 30 years, he was a roofer and was a supporting member of Local 60, 11, 173 in Nashville, Tennessee, and 102 in St. Louis.
While living in Mt. Vernon, he was a faithful member of the Central Christian Church. Jim enjoyed listening to American country singer Johnny Cash, and in his spare time played the guitar.
Jim is survived by a sister, Linda Lane; four brothers, Steve (Maryann), Tom (Debbie), Bobby "Red" and Milton; many nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents.
As per Jim's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
He will be laid to rest at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
