WAKEFIELD, Mich. – James Lawrence Davey, 63, of Wakefield, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield.

Jim graduated from Wakefield High School in 1974, and went on to achieve an art degree from Gogebic Community College. Part of the family's treasured items are a few paintings he had done in his younger years.

James had been employed at both Ironwood Plastics and Blackjack Ski Hill until he was declared disabled.

Jim was an avid sports fan, including San Francisco 49ers, racing, basketball and a special love of music.

While battling demons, he often found time to have silly "Eureka!" moments, finding joy with his annual nesting robin above his front door, and following the weather channel. While some people use food to live, James lived for food. He loved the best and the finest of foods and would compare various brands. He loved his weekly outings when he lived at home and enjoyed all the restaurants the area had to offer.

Our family prayer would be that Jim's demons are left here on earth, and he will find peace in Heaven.

We'll miss you buddy.

James is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bruce L. and Melody; six nieces and nephews; and he enjoyed visiting with numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James O. and Dorrie Davey; his maternal and paternal grandparents; an aunt; and two uncles.
