Jacquelyn Rae
'Jackie' Busch
September 26, 1960 – January 31, 2026
"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21
BESSEMER, Mich. - Jaquelyn Rae "Jackie" (Schaedig) Busch was peacefully called home by our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her husband, John. Jackie was born on Sept. 26, 1960, in Rogers City, Michigan, the adored youngest of three daughters, to Raymond and Nona Schaedig. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1978. John and Jackie were married in June of that same year. They called Anvil Location in Bessemer their home, creating an unforgettable life and family together, spanning 47 years.
Jackie will be remembered for her daring spirit, quick humor, big heart and loving nature. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, playful grandmother and adoring great-grandmother. Jackie is survived by her husband and co-adventurer, John Busch; two sons, Benjamin (Amity) Busch and Jeremy (Lisa) Busch; five grandchildren, Tyler, Leah (Max Ofstad), Aidan, Noah and Emily; and her two great-grandchildren, Colsen and Klayton. She is also survived by other significant supports: her sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Bryan) Jeske; her brother-in-law, William (Linda) Elliott; her sister-in-law, Sandie Banovich; and countless adoring nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; a sister, Cindy (Schaedig) Elliot; and three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Jim and Allene Busch, Jerry Busch and Randy Banovich. She never allowed those that had gone before her to be forgotten.
Jackie had a heart that made room for everyone, and every creature. As a devoted animal lover, she rescued countless pets over the years, including more than a few wonderfully odd ones, welcoming them into her home with the same love she gave to people. Jackie had a rare gift for making anyone feel like an old friend, and her home was always open, warm and full of laughter. A woman of deep faith, she loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wakefield. Jackie delighted in spontaneous day trips and small adventures, never passing up the joy of a good garage sale with her best friend. Her kindness, curiosity and welcoming spirit will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
In keeping with Jackie's wishes, there will be a private service held for the family at a later date.
