WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Gloria Jean Schneck, 76, of Wakefield, passed away early Monday morning, Sept. 23, 2019, at the Superior Rehabilitation Center in Superior, Wis., where she was a resident for the past one and a half years.

Gloria was born on Nov. 17, 1942, in Antigo, Wis., a daughter of Gordon and Hilda (Gjelsten) Schneck. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1960.

After graduating from high school, Gloria moved to Racine, Wis., where she worked as a certified nurse's aide at St. Luke's Hospital. Gloria moved back to Wakefield and worked at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility until her retirement.

She was a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bessemer.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Joedy (Tom), Superior; her father, Gordon and brother, Les (Ellen) and their son, Josh, all of Wakefield; and her nephew, Scott (Izumi) and their children, Justice and Airi, all of Japan.

She was predeceased by her mother, Hilda, on May 15, 2017; a sister, Linda; and her brother-in-law, Bob.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, Sept. 27, beginning at 10 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, E8223 Sanders Road in Bessemer. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Timothy J. Steckling officiating.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.

Luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall upon return from the cemetery.
