Obituary

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Glenna Gail Cox, 66, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, January. 31, 2025, at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah, Washington.
Glenna was born on September 28, 1958, in Wakefield, to Glenn and Emma (Moilanen) Cox, and was the second of two children. In 1995, Glenna married her soulmate Burke Magee.
In High School, Glenna played in the school band, was a Majorette, and also played on the tennis team. She graduated with honors from Wakefield High School in 1976 and was selected Bicentennial Queen that year and rode the Bicentennial float in the Fourth of July parade. With an IQ of 145, she went on to graduate from Michigan Technological University May 17th 1980 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, B.S.C.S. She continued her higher education at Seattle University where she graduated in 1984 with a Masters degree in Software Engineering, M.S.E. She subsequently put her education to use as an Associate Technical Fellow for Boeing Research and Technology.
Glenna loved music and played the piano, organ, clarinet, saxophone and harmonica. She grew to love Gospel Blue Grass and was looking forward to learning the mandolin. She was an amazing cook and won awards for her baking, in particular, she won a rosette award for her carrot cake in 1993 at the Monroe County Fair. She also loved animals and was hoping to own a sanctuary ranch for unwanted animals. In 1995, Glenna and her husband published a Messianic Christian magazine and subsequently wrote seven books.
Glenna is survived by her husband, Burke Magee, from Washington, and her brother, John Cox, from Wakefield, Michigan. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her kind heart and gentle and giving nature.
A burial will scheduled along with a private service in the spring.
Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., Wakefield, is assisting the family with arrangements.
