GREEN BAY, Wis. – Gerilynn (Pikka) Anonich, 49, of Menominee, Mich., formerly of Wakefield, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
She was born on March 2, 1962, in Wauwatosa. Gerilynn graduated from Wakefield High School in 1980.
On March 12, 1983, Gerilynn was united in marriage with David J. Anonich in Bessemer, Mich.
She was a registered nurse, and enjoyed cooking and catering.
Gerilynn is survived by her mother, Joanne Pikka, Wakefield, and her father, John "Jack" Pikka, Ishpeming, Mich.; her beloved husband, Dave, Menominee; two daughters, Lindsay (Brian) Swank, Lansdale, Pa., and Kelsey Anonich, Menominee; two sisters, Pam Youngberg, Wakefield, and Kristi Pikka, Bessemer; her father-in-law, William "Wyoming" (Marlene Delich) Anonich, Wakefield; her sister-in-law, Pam Anonich, Mercer; three nieces, Casey, Jessica and Alysha; several uncles and their wives; numerous cousins; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery "Porky" Pikka, on Nov. 5, 2004; and her mother-in-law, Shirley Anonich, on Nov. 6, 1994.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, June 17, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., at All Saints Lutheran Church in Wakefield, where a memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bill Jacobson officiating.
A reception will be held at the American Legion Post 11 in Wakefield following the service.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may contribute to the family for a nursing scholarship to be established in Gerilynn's name at Gogebic Community College, Ironwood, Mich.
