Obituary

Geraldine H. Leskoviansky, 74, a longtime resident of Bessemer, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in Wakefield, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side.
She was born on April 4, 1936, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Jones) July.
Geraldine graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood in 1954.
She was united in marriage with Frank E. Leskoviansky. He preceded her in death in 1968. Geraldine then married John A. Leskoviansky. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She was employed by Michigan Bell in Ironwood for several years, and at Big Powderhorn Lodging Association in Bessemer for many years.
Geraldine loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer.
Geraldine is survived by seven children, John (Linda), Wakefield, Jane Lesky, Hibbing, Minn., An Halquist, Duluth, Minn., Frank (Cheryl) and Renee Leskoviansky, both of Bessemer, Jeanette (Ronald) Verthein, Wakefield, and Susan Foster, Bessemer; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jennie Marcelon; and a cousin, Cliff Johnston.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Steve, Warren, Frank Jr. and Roland "Joey;" and five sisters, Katherine Ziarek, Mary July, Irene Marcelon, Rosalie Massi and Sandra Stano.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joy J. Adimakkeel officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Lesky, Frank Leskoviansky, Ronald Verthein, Timmy Foster, Brian Massi and Mike Neitzel.
A reception will be held in the Father Swoboda Hall following the Mass.
Interment will take place in the spring in the family plot at Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family is being served by Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., Wakefield.
