George Thomas Sporcich's Obituary
WAKEFIELD, Mich. – George T. Sporcich, 86, of Wakefield, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013.
George was born on June 2, 1927, in Ironwood, the son of Thomas Marco and Helen (Mordish) Sporcich. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Navy.
George is survived by several nieces and nephews, including nephews, Mike Johnson, Wakefield, and Scott Johnson, Bessemer, and niece, Liz (Bob) Ranta, Ironwood; two granddaughters, Jessica (Ben) Mitchell, Durango Colo., and Rachel (Aaron) Smith, Kalamazoo; and a grandson, Dustin (Erin) Lund, Fort Drum, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Annie Helberg.
No funeral service is scheduled at this time.
Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
