Obituary

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Douglas Kenneth Wuorinen, 60, of Burnsville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.

Douglas was born on June 23, 1961, in Wakefield, Michigan, the son of Kenneth and Beverly (Hill) Wuorinen.

Doug attended Washington School in Bessemer, Michigan until his family moved to Bloomington in August 1973. In Bloomington, he attended Olson Middle School and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He received several certificates for auto body repair, welding and sheet metal working from Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie.

For more than 25 years, Doug was employed at the Midwest/Great Lakes Coca-Cola Bottling in Eagan until his passing.

He enjoyed spending his free time fixing and riding vintage motorcycles and snowmobiles, fishing and going to pro wrestling or music events in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Doug had a unique sense of humor and could make you laugh at a moment's notice. He was one of the most kind-hearted people, never out to hurt anyone or their feelings. He loved animals, frequently adopting his companions from the rescue shelter.

Doug is survived by his parents, Kenneth & Beverly, Bloomington; a sister, Sandra (Michael) Drager, Farmington; a nephew, Michael Drager Jr. (Katrina), Farmington; a great-nephew, Ayden Drager; his longtime girlfriend, Diana Jones, Fargo, North Dakota; his loving kitty, Spot; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Sharon Lutheran Church, 100 E. Sellar St., in Bessemer, with the Rev. Kay Richter officiating.

Interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
