WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Donna Lee Korpela-Pedrin, 61, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born on Aug. 7, 1964, in Flint, Michigan, a daughter of Bernard Leroy and Karen Rachel (Grinivic) Pedrin. She grew up in a loving family with her three sisters and a brother. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1982. Donna worked for her sister, Renee, at Ma's Place in Wakefield.

She was married to Karl Korpela and later divorced. Donna lived life to the fullest and especially loved caring for her daughter, grandsons and family. She enjoyed playing Canasta, drinking coffee with everyone and going to thrift stores, always finding unique treasures for everyone.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Alicia Lee Peterson; two grandsons, Cory Lee Anderson and Camdyn Tony Peterson; her father, Bernard Pedrin; two sisters, Margie (Chris) Kobesko and Sandra (Frank) Romanowski; a brother, Brian (Carrie) Pedrin; her brother-in-law, Charles Jager; many nieces and nephews; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Pedrin, on Nov. 11, 2010; a sister, Karen Renee Jager, on Dec. 18, 2019; her grandparents, a niece; and many aunts and uncles.

At Donna's request, cremation has taken place.

The family is honoring her life in a private graveside service at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.

A special note to Donna: Your big heart and selflessness will always be a part of us and your funny laugh will remain with us. Rest in peace and know we will all be together again someday. We love you to the moon and back!

The family would like to thank the staff at Gogebic Medical Care Facility for all the wonderful care you gave to Donna and all the love you showed her. It meant a lot to Donna and us. The family also wishes to thank Jerald Rocco for his friendship, professionalism and caring ways.
