Vargovich-Harazin
May 24, 1955 – November 28, 2018
HOBART, Wis. – Debra Lyn (Vargovich) Harazin, 63, of Hobart, went to her Heavenly home, the morning of Nov. 28, 2018, at Bellin Hospital/hospice. Debra fought valiantly against mesothelioma of the peritoneal, for nearly three years, with multiple operations at Froedtert and U of Wisconsin.
Debra was born May 24, 1955, in Ironwood, Mich., to Steve A. and Marianne T. (Peterson) Vargovich. She attended St. Sebastian and A.D. Johnston High School, graduating in 1973. Debra attended Gogebic Community College cosmetology program. She started working at Beauty Tower in Ironwood and later for Loralee Radowski at Curls and Swirls in Bessemer, Mich. Debra also worked at Wakefield High School and Plainfield High School in Illinois.
Deb was loved greatly by her family, was a hard worker, excellent cleaner, very generous and loved her two children, their spouses and her grandchild, Lucas Giackino, very much.
Deb enjoyed life, travel, little gambling, reading novels and watching Lucas until she became sick. She was a Eucharistic minister at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
Deb is survived by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Mark (Melissa) Giackino, Abrams; a daughter, Jill (Brian) Hunter, Suamico; a brother, Jim (Carol) Vargovich, Williamston, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Vargovich, Ironwood, and Teena Vargovich, Nowata, Okla.; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends; and Mark and Jill's father, Louis Giackino.
She was preceded by her parents; two brothers, Steve Jr. and Dennis Vargovich; and numerous relatives and friends.
At Deb's request, no formal service will take place in Green Bay. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held privately with friends and family in Bessemer, in the spring of 2019.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer.

Debra's family expresses their sincere gratitude to the medical staffs of Froedtert, U of Wisconsin, U of Chicago, Bellin and Unity Hospice for their dedication and compassion while she was in their care.
