Ramme Sr.
July 31, 1952 – May 8, 2021
IRONWOOD, Mich. – David John Ramme Sr., 68, a prominent long-time businessman, passed away early Saturday morning, May 8, 2021, at his home in Ironwood.
Dave was born on July 31, 1952, in Ironwood, a son of Floyd and Marion (Chouinard) Ramme. He graduated from high school, attended Gogebic Community College and received his bachelor's degree in business from Northland College.
In 1981, Dave started Rammes Collision Center. He loved his business and was very proud of what he built.
Throughout his years in business, he always supported and loved helping the community and served as a Gogebic County Commissioner for several years.
Dave is survived by two sons, David (Candy Torres), Hurley, Wisconsin, and Jeffrey (Monica), Ironwood; two granddaughters and his "girls," Lauryn and Cambree; his angel and long-time companion of 23 years, Annette Plesh; his best friend, James Webber; his sister-in-law, Jane Ramme, Ironwood; two nephews, Floyd (Linnea) Ramme and John (Lynn Maffesanti) Ramme, both of Ironwood; a niece, Barbara (Mark) Werner, Eagle River, Alaska; a sister, Donna Ramme, Merrill, Wisconsin; and his cat, KitKat.
He was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife, Linda, in 1988; and two brothers, Clarence "Kelly," on Sept. 17, 2012, and Dennis "Blackie," on March 16, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 19, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 108 S. Marquette St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Binu Joseph, celebrant.
Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring staff at Regional Hospice for their compassionate, professional care and the many kindnesses extended to the family.
Jerald Rocco, owner and manager of Lakeside Memorial Chapel Inc., in Wakefield, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
