Christina Lee Ahonen

NEEHAH, Wis. – Christina Lee Ahonen, 25, of Neenah, Wis., formerly of Wakefield, Mich., entered into heavenly glory on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012.

Christina, the daughter of Jeffrey and Mariann (Peterson) Ahonen and the sister of Bethany Ahonen (Kevin) Julien, was born on April 6, 1986, in Ironwood, Mich. She resided in many locations throughout the United States but considered the Upper Peninsula of Michigan her home.

Christina was known as a singer, and her beautiful soprano voice will be missed by the many who were blessed to hear her sing as a soloist and as a choir member.

She was a graduate of Garland High School in Garland, Texas, and attended Chippewa Valley Technical College in Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Appleton, Wis. She was employed in Appleton at the time of her passing.

During her life, she suffered the loss of an uncle, Matthew Ahonen, and an aunt, Sandra Ahonen St. Ours. She was not blessed with the opportunity to meet in this world grandparents Arvi Ahonen, Harold Peterson and Patricia (Greshel) Peterson, or uncle William Ahonen, all of whom also predeceased her.

Christina is survived by her parents, and her sister and brother in law, all of Ladysmith, Wis. She is also survived by a dear friend, Adam Witthuhn, of Neenah; Others who mourn her passing include her grandparents, James and Barbara Smith, of Wakefield; as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins from the across Michigan and Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be conducted at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Tony, Wis., on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., with the Right Reverend James Heiser officiating. Visitation with the family will take place at the church prior to the service, beginning at 9 a.m. A potluck luncheon will follow the service at the VMA Building in nearby Ladysmith, Wis.

Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield, in the spring.
