WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Carol Jean (nee Yatchak) Giackino, 83, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, in Mountain Iron, Minnesota.

Carol was born on July 26, 1941, in Wakefield, a daughter of Lawrence J. and Effie E. (Keskey) Yatchak. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1959.

Carol was a teacher's aide at the Wakefield School District, employed at Indianhead Mountain Ski Resort and concluded her 15-year working career as a bartender at the American Legion Geroux Post 11 in Wakefield.

Carol is survived by four sons, Kenneth Jackson, Steven (Julie) Jackson, Chad (Jennifer) Giackino and Jeff Jackson; five grandchildren, Drew Giackino, Lindsay (Derrick) Jeske, Cody Jackson, Olivia Jackson and Jared Jackson; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Buddy Yatchak, Robert Yatchak, Larry (Mary) Yatchak and James Yatchak (Lynn Giachino); a sister, Judith Libertoski; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family is honoring Carol's life in a private service.
