Carmella M. Lasinski

WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Matriarch of the Misuraco family, Carmella M. Lasinski, 97, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, in Wakefield.
She was born on June 10, 1914, in Hurley, Wis., the seventh child of 19 children to the late Vincent and Josephine (Bruno) Misuraco. Carmella graduated from Hurley High School in 1934.
Her hobbies included arts and crafts, crocheting, knitting and carpentry. Carmella was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed going to the casino, playing the piano and on occasion played parts at the theater in Ironwood. In her later years, she attended Gogebic Community College and took automotive, music and acting classes.
Carmella was a devout Catholic, who attended Mass daily. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Her vocation was a licensed practical nurse at Grand View Hospital.
Carmella is survived by her son, Joseph (Virginia) Ferrari, Elm Grove, Wis.; three granddaughters, Sylvia Ferrari-Miller, St. Francis, Wis., Gloria (Brian) Stephenson, Longwood, Fla., and Christine Fernandez, Olympia, Wash.; two grandsons, Joseph Ferrari (fiancée Becki), Elm Grove, and Justin Ferrari, of the U.S. Marines; 10 great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Carmella (fiancé Ben), Graham, of the U.S. Army (Katelin), Cecilia, Angelica, Erica, Jacob, Alexander, Andrew, Joshua and Javier; a great-great-granddaughter, Giuliana; four sisters, Rose Baker, Independence, Ore., Helen Kasper, Hurley, Gina Jancieski, Appleton, Wis., and Mary Wiita, Wakefield; a brother, Sam (June) Misuraco, Ironwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were 13 siblings, Constance, Dominic, Angeline, Frank, Lena, Nancy, Joseph, Theresa, Dominenica, Jerome, Mildred and two infants.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30, at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Allan J. Mayotte officiating. Also in attendance will be the Immaculate Conception Women's Guild Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Rite of Committal and burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses in Mrs. Lasinski's memory.
