EWEN, Mich. – Bette L. (Toomey) Rigoni, 79, of Ewen, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, with her loving family at her side.
Bette was born on Oct. 14, 1944, in Bessemer Township, a daughter of William and Yaga (Smolich) Toomey. She attended Bergland High School and graduated in 1962. Bette continued her education at Gogebic Community College.
For many years, she was a dedicated licensed practical nurse.
On Oct. 6, 1962, Bette was united in marriage to Raymond Rigoni Jr.
She loved her church, community, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and most of all her best friend and husband of 61 years, Ray.
Bette enjoyed baking and always had fresh baked goods to share. She loved being around people, always taking the time to stop and say hello. She liked taking a ride for lunch and taking the long way home. Bette was a familiar face at all community events, especially all Ewen-Trout Creek School activities. Her support will surely be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Borseth; her brother-in-law, Wayne Borseth; and a brother, John Lulich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, at 11 a.m. EDT, preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ewen, with the Rev. Brian Gerber, celebrant.
